Pony World Deluxe Review at Gamezebo

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I am pleased to let you know that Pony World Deluxe received a great review at Gamezebo - 4 stars from reviewer and 5 stars from players. Here is a quick quote and if you want to read full review click here.

A surprisingly robust and replay-friendly spin on the usual virtual pet-rearing diversion, it’s nonetheless also sadly saddled with some of the same aggravations that come with caring for the actual animals.

On the bright side, you’ll immediately be struck by the depth and breadth of the vibrantly-colored universe in which the outing’s set. Starting out, players can customize a pony to their heart’s content, tweaking variables like name, gender, skin color, bandanas, socks and even tattoos. (Think hearts, flowers and - oddly - Japanese kanji writing).

Don’t forget to try the game on your own!

Pony WorldI am very excited to annouce soft release of Pony World. We did work on this title for over a year now and I believe it will take us a few more weeks to fully launch it. Though you can be one of the first few people that have the chance to play this truly unique game.

Pony World

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

It’s been a while since the last post about Pony World. We have given the game new title. My favourite name - Ponyville - was too risky due to My Little Ponys connections, so we decided to go with Pony World.

We’re at beta stage. Programming is done. We just need to replace placeholders. If you want to be a beta-tester for this game, feel free to send a mail to beta [at] anawiki.com. We will start beta testing next week (polish users only at the moment), though as soon as we get english translation we will start global beta tests.

The Ponys update

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

It’s been a while since I posted updates on the Ponys game. One of the reasons is that we’ve been fully concentrated on finishing Runes of Avalon. The other reason is that there was not much going on with it. But since mid january we have a new guy in a team that moves this project forward day by day. Our plan is to finish this game by March 31st. This is an ambitious task, but then - we love challanges :D

Here’s a little screenie from the game. Make sure to view it full size (click on the image). It’s raining man! It doesn’t look so lovely on a static picture, but so far it’s the only thing I can show you at the moment. There’s planty of stuff for your ponys to do - not only you can feed them, but you can let them play many games, build your own farm, decide whether you want to make a party, go to a race, start up in a beauty contest and much more…

The Ponys - progress update

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Last few weeks we’ve been working really hard on ponys game. Hopefully the toughest parts are behind us (at least technical). Combining 2d prerendered world with realtime 3d rendered ponys was not an easy task. Then making them walk on the farm wasn’t easy too. It’s about time to post some work-in-progress screenshots.

The creation of pony

Monday, August 14th, 2006

We are working at the moment on creation of ponys feature for The Ponys. I am really surprised how well it’s presenting. That’s why I don’t try to create any art for our games - you need real artist to get exceptional quality.

Here is the (still work-in-progress) screenshot of upcoming feature so you can jugde yourselft. Imagine a pony standing on the stand… I hope you like it as much as I do.

You know you’re in trouble…

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

You know you’re in trouble when you schedule your milestones without checking out technology you plan to use. Gosh… It happened to us today with the Ponys game.

I assumed that I can use Max2D and MiniB3D without any issues and it even didn’t bother me if it is slow. So I scheduled a milestone thet ends up 2 weeks from know and requires Max2D and MiniB3D to work :(

I guess I can do some kind of workaround with MiniB3d cause all I need is to draw a background and a couple mashes on it. This should do for upcoming milestone, but won’t do for a whole game.

Man, I need to be more careful next time.
