Runes of Avalon - original soundtrack and level editor coming soon!

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

I’ve got couple of good news for all Runes of Avalon fans. We plan to release Runes of Avalon soundtrack - all great songs from the game have been remastered, extended and put together to create great compilation of music (18 tracks). Soundtrack will be most probably released as a high quality set of mp3 files and cd image to burn on your own (package will include cd cover images).

We are also finishing level editor, that will let you create your own set of levels. Editor is extremely easy to use and let you use all assets from the game or use your own backgrounds or songs. I can’t wait to see all the levels that Runes of Avalon community might create.

Ultra recommended

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Runes of Avalon received two more reviews. At Casual Explosion it earned ultra recommended rank with highest score of 9.4 out of 10 (for explosion) and average score of 8.5.

Killer Betties awarded us with 4 stars out of 5. Thanks Jason. I’ll quote just one sentence from his review: Runes of Avalon has taken the “match three” concept and spun it in a way that makes it seem both unique and fresh.

Along with review at Casual Review it looks like we’re having very good average :)

If you have a blog and would like to review Runes of Avalon make sure to contact me. Spread the news. This game deserves it!

First full review of Runes of Avalon

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

I’ve been waiting for this moment so long and it finally happend. Reviews of Runes of Avalon are popping up on the internet. Casual Review was the first one to publish their own. Here’s a quote, but make sure to read full review (and don’t forget to download the game - PC & Mac versions available).

Sometimes games come out of nowhere and bowl you over with their beauty, originality, and general coolness. And while this game has the beauty, originality, and coolness down, it certainly didn’t come out of nowhere for those of us involved in the indie game scene. We have been given weekly, nay, daily updates on the progress of this game on various development blogs for so long I feel like a part of me has died now that the game is finally out. That being said, I am ever so happy to report that it is a absolute piece of art, and you really should go play it.

Review is great reading. The only thing I don’t get is why we scored only two stars for the storyline? Other games almost without the story received 3 or 4 stars. We have so deep and beautifully illustrated story and got just 2?! Check the story yourself. Let me know if you agree with Nick or not.

Runes of Avalon are ready (Mac & Windows)

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Yes, Yes, Yes! Finally. Both demo and full version of Runes of Avalon are ready for Mac (universal binaries) and Windows. It was quite fun to port this game to Mac. Porting went smooth on Mac Intel, but Mac PowerPC was quite a challange. For most of the time I didn’t have access to keyboard. I bought Mac G4 400Mhz with 128MB Ram just to do the port. At the end, when the game was ready, I was very surprised how smooth the game works on this machine. But to the point. It’s the best time to try Runes of Avalon. Easter Holidays are about to start and you should have some extra time to play our game.
